As I am sure you are aware Hounslow is one of the Local Authorities where Primary Schools are to remain closed for the majority of pupils until at least 18th January. This is due to the rapidly rising number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

Pupils were due to return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021, we will now be providing remote learning for the majority of pupils from this date. If you will need to borrow a Chromebook from school in order that your child/ren can access online learning please email us at info@ivybridge.hounslow.sch.uk as soon as possible giving the names and year groups of your children. Alternatively telephone the school office between 9am and 11am on Monday morning. We will be in touch on Monday and organise for you to collect a Chromebook from school. We only have a limited number available so please only request one if you really need it.

If you are a Critical Worker and have no other adult living in your household who is able to care for your children whilst you are at work please click here and complete the form. Alternatively please telephone the school office between 9am and 11am on Monday morning. We will be in touch with you on Monday.

If you child is considered Vulnerable for any reason we will telephone you on Monday to discuss provision in school for your child during this period.

For children not attending school and who are entitled to means tested free school meals we will be organising for you to recieve Tesco vouchers. We will inform you when this has been arranged.

If any children become unwell and test positive for COVID-19 whilst school is closed it is still important that you let us know and follow the rules for self-isolation, Please e-mail us at info@ivybridge.hounslow.sch.uk and provide you child’s full name, class/year group and the date when they tested positive. Dear Parents/Carers

 

As you are probably aware we have been notified of a number of positive COVID-19 cases in the school and therefore pupils in Years 1,2, 4 and 6 have been asked to self-isolate. As a result we have made the decision to close to all students and staff from 3.15pm today for the remainder of this week. The school will reopen for pupils after the Christmas break on Tuesday 5^th January 2021 with the usual start times for drop off and collection.

 

This decision has not been taken lightly and has been in full consultation with Public Health and the Local Authority. We are fully aware of the impact on the children’s learning by closing the school; however, safety of the whole school community is paramount at this time.

 

Cases of COVID-19 are rising rapidly across London, Hounslow has now begun to see an increase in cases and it is therefore not surprising that this is reflected in the increased number of cases we have seen in the school. A closure of the school will help to reduce the risk of further infections within our community.

We are arranging for any child who is entitled to a means tested free school meal to receive a voucher for this week – we are in the process of organising this so they may not arrive until the beginning of next week.

It is important that we are notified of any further positive cases even while the school is closed. Please report these via e-mail to info@ivybridge.hounslow.sch.uk, giving your child’s full name, class/year group and date when they received a positive test result.

 

Arrangements for learning during closure:

 Google Classroom will be in operation every day, with a sessions at specific times for each year group, we will email you with further details.

 

Online learning packages, such as MyMaths and Purple Mash, will be available as normal and homework will be set online.

 

The expectation is that children complete their tasks and the teachers will be checking and monitoring the work submitted online.

 

Please ensure your child logs on every day using their own passwords as provided.

I am sorry to say that we have been notified of three positive cases of COVID-19 within the school community. As a result all children in Years 1, 2, 4 and 6 class must self isolate until Monday 21st December. This means they must stay at home, they cannot come to school, go shopping, be in public spaces such as parks or socialise with others during this period. From Tuesday morning learning will be available on google classroom, we will provide you with further information on Monday afternoon. If you don’t have a laptop, tablet, ipad or computer suitable for accessing this learning please contact the school as we may be able to loan you a device during the self isolation period.

Unfortunately this evening we have been notified of two separate positive cases of COVID-19 in the school community, we have identified that this affects children in Years 1, 2 and 4 who are likely to be close contacts. Children in Years 1, 2 and 4 will not be able to attend school and must self isolate. This means they MUST STAY AT HOME, they cannot attend school, mix with members of other households or be in public places such as shops and parks. We will arrange for your children to continue their learning remotely during this period of self isolation, further details will follow.

Pupils in these year groups will need to self isolate until Monday 21st December. If your child becomes unwell during this time please inform us immediately and arrange a test for them as soon as possible.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We currently have our Reception and Year 3 classes self-isolating as we have 2 separate cases of COVID-19 confirmed within our school community. I know this must be worrying but we have no reason to believe that these two cases are connected in anyway or that it is being transmitted in school. Please click here for further information which has been sent home in a letter today.

If your child is unwell please do not send them to school. If we ask you to have your child tested for Coronavirus please do so as soon as possible, please do not send them back to school until they have received a negative result. By supporting us in this way you will be helping to continue keeping everyone within our community safe.
