Children from our Drama Club will be performing at Richmond Theatre tomorrow night as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival. A big thank you to Mr J and Ms Lwin for all the support they have given the children who have all worked so hard to prepare their performance of Romeo and Juliet. Parents and members of school staff will be in the audience and are really looking forward to the performance and would like to wish everyone the best of luck.

Ivybridge Bake Off
Today we held the finals of our own bake off! Superb cheese scones were baked by our three finalists, it was very difficult to choose between them. However after much consideration (and much tasting) Parnian was declared the winner – she will go on to represent our school in the C8 bake off finals – watch out to see if she is the overall winner. Good luck Parnian!
Congratulations to our Cross Country Team
Congratulations to our Year 5 & 6 cross country running team, who competed against hundreds of other children from Hounslow schools at Osterley Park on Tuesday 7th November.
A special well done to Suada who finished in 13th place overall and to Farhad who finished in 21st place, the highest positions of all our superb athletes. All of our competitors showed incredible talent and teamwork, and a wonderful time was had by all. Well done Team!
Year 5 Sports Team
Today 10 Year 5 children attended a multi sport competition today at Cranford School, they all had a fantastic day competing with children from other schools. We are very proud that they represented our school so well. Well done!
5 Star Kitchen
Our school kitchen was inspected by Environmental Health Officers yesterday, this was a routine inspection which is carried out on a regular basis. We are extremely pleased to say that our kitchen has been awarded 5 stars which is the highest possible rating – congratulations to all of our catering staff for running such a professional and well managed kitchen!
Year 6 are having a fantastic time in Dorset
Year 6 arrived safely in Charmouth yesterday morning and enjoyed the day exploring the beach. They all had a good nights sleep at Camp Wild and are spending the day taking part in activities there today. They will be visiting the beach again tomorrow before coming home.
Presentation of Grenfell Funds
Pupils had the honour of presenting the funds raised at the Hounslow Primary Schools Music Festival for the Grenfell Tragedy to Fire Fighters from Heston and Isleworth Fire Station who joined pupils and parents for the Year 3 and 4 concert. Oonagh Barry CEO of Hounslow Music Service also joined us, it is down to her hard work and unending enthusiasm that the Music Festival takes place each year. The collections taken at each of the performances totalled over £1300.
Pupils presented the collection to Alan Taylor, Station Manager at Heston and Isleworth Fire Station and Helen Christmas who is a Watch Manger at the Station. Helen is Watch Manager for Red Watch which was one of the watches that attended Grenfell.
During the concert, led by Debbie Brice, specialist teacher from Hounslow Music service, Year 3 performed songs they had been learning in their lessons, Year 4 demonstrated their skills on the Ukulele and the choir performed numbers from the Music Festival.
Photography Club Winning Pictures
In the first week of photography club, we learnt about many different features of our cameras, including what each part of a camera is called, how to zoom in and out and how to review the photographs that we have taken. We were then set loose to take photographs around the school. Mr. Stonebridge chose one photograph from each of our portfolios and asked members of staff to anonymously vote for their favourite. It was a close competition, and there were joint winners this week – congratulations to Jayneet (Asteriod) and Salma (Meteor).
A message from our school nurse
Dear Parents,
Just a note to introduce myself as Ivybridge’s new school nurse, and to offer you all a gentle reminder to ensure that your child is registered with a dentist, has their vaccinations up to date, and visits the optician yearly. The summer holidays are a great time to do this! If your child has any health needs please feel free to contact me via the school.
Kind regards,
Jess
School nurse
